Prosperity Theme – Remove text box from home page featured content?

  Hi, I’m trying to remove the greyed out text box from the image which appears on the homepage ‘featured content’ section. I’ve tried a few CSS codes (I’m beginner at this) but none have taken. I just want a single static banner image on the home page at http://ghfp.news
  Any help welcomed!
