How do I accept an invite to a private blog without going through the new blog page? I have no need for another blog.

Hi. Rest assured, there is such a thing as a “username-only account” on WordPress.com. When you sign up, select the option “Just a username, please”. More info here:

You should also be able to use the account that your blog is setup under or you logged in here – you might need to ask your friend to cancel the original invite depending on how it was issued – it has been a long time since I did any invites so I can’t really remember well – but you should only need the one account and should not need to make a second account.

Ah-ha. I should have thought of that possibility. I just assumed the original poster did not have a WordPress.com. My bad.
