  Why does the “protected” status for a post not work?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  “password protected” posts are NOT protected. It just shows up with “protected” next to the title & anyone can read it.

  I can’t read it and the display is see is the same as every other one I have seen.

  The post I’m talking about is now on private.
  Otherwise the password protected allows anyone to read it.

  Not true.

  You can read it because you already have the password stored on a cookie in your computer. Do a full cache clear and restart and you’ll see you can’t read it. This is a common error.

  yes, it’s also called the Cookie Dance. Your computer is storing that information, so you need to flush it out as if your computer had never seen your post before: then you will see it as other people do.
