Protecting a post with a password

  I added a post that I don’t want to be publicly visible like my other posts, so I set it to be password protected. I signed out and viewed my blog, and the protected post was totally visible, like there was no protection. Why am I able to see it when I’m signed out? The setting in my dashboard clearly labels this a VISIBILITY setting.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there. When I view your blog the first post, To Drink or Not To Drink is password-protected. I can’t read it.

  The password is saved in your browser via a cookie, so if you view it again with the same browser it automatically enters the password for you, whether you are logged in or not. Clear your browser cookies, and you will get the password prompt.

  Keep in mind that if you only want the post visible to yourself, you can also set it to private. Only blog admins and editors can view private posts. Password-protection is more for if you don’t want it generally available, but still want other people you choose to be able to see it.
