Protecting Uploads from non-subscribers

    Hi,

I have been looking high and low for an answer to this. I have a WP site that has only subscriber content. All the files I upload though, I notice are available to be downloaded by anyone. So far I have been able to prevent content (eg. Posts) from being displayed to unauthenticated users but if a person types in a specific URL they are able to download files within the wp-content/uploads. I am hosting this site on Godaddy so I am sure there will be limitations as to how I configure folder permissions if that is the route. I am assume this is a common issue for people that have subscriber only content (eg. files, media, etc…).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/

The forum at WordPress.ORG is not connected to WordPress.COM so you will need to open an account at .ORG if you do not already have one. You may use the same email at WordPress.ORG as you do at WordPress.COM.

If you are asking for help with a WordPress.COM site then we need a link to that site to give you accurate help.
