Provision for screen reader users | Accessibility

    Hello, team WordPress!
I have a friend who is a talented UX Researcher and he wants to create a portfolio website. He is a screen reader user. He wants to be able to add/remove/modify content on his website by himself. Would WordPress allow him to do that using only a screen reader?
    Thanks! :)

  • Hi @srutiv1, the WordPress.org community has an accessibility team that aims to find and fix issues in WordPress. You can read more about their current projects here:

Code changes are very frequent, and I’m not sure what the current status is on accessibility for all of the different editors and applications. Your friend would likely want to choose accessible themes and plugins as well.

Still, if he is willing, I’d encourage him to go ahead and give it a try. If he finds the current block editor unusable, he’d be welcome to switch to Classic. He’d also be welcome to provide whatever feedback he’s willing to give so the block editor can be more accessible.
