pseudo-element use
-
Hello. New to CSS customization. Wondering why my attempt at pseudo-elements doesn’t work. This is the code I input:
p:first-letter {
font-face: Gothic, serif;
font-size: 250%;
float: left;

pseudo elements are not recognized by all browsers (Internet Explorer 8 partial, IE7 and earlier not at all) so they should be used with caution. Also, font-face in CSS was depreciated long ago. Also also, Gothic is not a font that is common to computer OS’ so few people would see it. It would be better to use Georgia or Times New Roman.
