Pssst! Any word yet on Twenty Seventeen?

You are welcome Jalexartis (James), and I understand some of the things that you are trying to say and I agree with some of it.

I’ve been here nearly as long as tt and it’s been my experience that Staff do not communicate about works in progress in the News Blog. That is for Announcements (with a capital “A”). In general the forums tend to be the place for “post release” issues, like what is happening now with the Reader, or questions like this one.
I sort of feel like we’re in the “are we there yet?” loop. So in reply, “We’ll get there when we get there” and several million community members will be the first to know when we do.
I’m still hoping that Santamattic will give us all an additional 2GB of free storage space with all the savings in CPU and electricity costs they have from having moved all WordPressdotcom to PHP7.
Happy Holidays. :D

Noted and thanks, Jennifer!
The only reason I suggest notification is that we have grown accustomed to the early December default theme release. It seems [to me] that a “significant” delay warrants a message of sorts letting most know it will not be early December this year; but, we are working on it and get it out as soon as possible.
I’m really done and waiting in my room.
Thank you ma’am.

yes, please let us know!
my life is too short for each of these unnecessary searches just to find something that should be available. -
We are still working out any compatibility issues, as our configuration is a bit different from standard WordPress.org installations. But we’ll announce it on https://en.blog.wordpress.com shortly after it goes live, so you’d be welcome to follow that.
