Public Page, Private Blog
-
I am using the Motif theme. I have a front page, an about page, and a few other pages that I want public. Check. I also have another page “Blog” where all of the blog posts go. I want to make the blog posts password protected, but leave the other pages public. I selected the BLOG page and password protected it, but it seems not to work. I also have a recent posts widget on the home page which shows all of the blog posts publicly. Is there a way to password protect the BLOG page and posts for just “members” but leave the rest of the pages public?

I haven’t been able to detect any posts on http://robertjarosh.com/, which has the Edin theme activated. Are you referring to another website?

Yes, you may selectively password protect the posts and pages that you wish to, but the each post must be treated separately. The Post Visibility support page includes the following warning:
Important note: Keep in mind that if you’d like to password protect the majority — or all — of your posts, and you might want to change all of them to Public in the future, you’ll need to update each post one at a time as there currently isn’t a way to bulk edit multiple posts to switch from Password Protected to Public. Instead, the best way to go about this is to set your blog to Private.
