Public vs. Private blog: problems!
-
I posted a link to my blog on Facebook, but the link said my blog was private and viewers would need to log in to view it. However, I want my blog to be public, not private, and I’ve already followed the instructions on the “help” pages. So, um, help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This happens when your site has ever been set to Private. You need to follow these instructions to flush your facebook cache:

Thanks for the tip. I followed the instructions, but my blog is still listed as private, although I’ve updated the blog settings to public, etc. Thanks for your input. :)

Are NEW links to your blog coming up as Private? The change does not affect links posted earlier, before you flushed the cache.

Hi Joni,
I just put the link to your site (http://jonireesewrites.wordpress.com/) in the Facebook debugger here:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
Then, I clicked the “Fetch new scrape information” button — that tells Facebook to go grab the latest details about your site and update their cache. Now, when I share a link to your site on Facebook I’m not getting the message that your blog is private.
You can use those steps to update Facebook’s cache any time you notice that Facebook is sharing outdated information about your site. Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
