Publicise to Facebook doesn't show featured image

Hi,
A recent post of mine (http://kristielleamy.com/2013/10/01/charlotte/) was set up with a featured image and gallery. However when I publicised to Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/KristielleAmyPhotography) the image Facebook used was not my featured image or any of the photos in the gallery. It used my header image (my logo). How do I change this?

I’m sorry but when using Publicize, note that we have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include. Thanks for this. I was having the same problem, and I read elsewhere in these forums about setting the featured image, which I now do. That mostly works, but sometimes it doesn’t. I guess showing the logo is better than nothing!

Facebook keeps changing their code–it would probably be a full-time job for you folks to keep up with them! Even then there would likely be frustrations.

Thanks for the reply. Pretty much makes the Facebook publicize feature useless.. I know WordPress say it’s facebook’s issue, but in reality, publicise is a wordpress feature therefore its a WordPress issue too. It shouldn’t be up to Facebook users to bring this attention to Facebook. It’s obviously a common issue, therefore WordPress should be collaborating with Facebook directly. Pretty simple problem to fix I would have thought :-(

Hi I’ve recently started having the same problem (again). This first happened in February when everything was working fine, I was posting a picture and when the post went through to Facebook it did not show the picture I posted when previously it had worked fine. This was on February 10th if you want to check back. I was told several times that the issue was with Facebook and various other reasons and definitely NOT a problem with WordPress until finally we were advised that the problem actually WAS with WordPress and the developers were aware of the issue and this was then fixed. Please could this be checked again as it does appear the same issue has happened again. Thanks for your help.

Having the same problem myself at the moment with my blog, modflowers.wordpress.com – just showing my logo when I post to facebook via Publicise. Everything was fine until a couple of days ago.

For some reason, Facebook fails to recognize them when a link to your site is posted with Publicize. At this point, I’m afraid there is not much else we can do. Your posts include image tags, and it’s up to Facebook to use these images or not.
With that said, our developers are aware of this issue, and are looking into it to determine if there is anything we can change on our end to get this working properly.
I’ll reply to this tread when we have any additional information on our end.

After one day of posting a photo, the problem has returned. *Sigh*.
It beats me how Facebook can be so successful when it seems to listen so little to it’s users. -
glad to see others in the same boat, i eagerly await for new information on how to correct this because it does seem inconsistent with when and how it works.

I keep reading about featured image, which can be found under Screen Options. When I open screen options the “featured image” item is not among the things I can select. I am so frustrated! I used an image related to my post and at the end a video. Facebook is showing the video as the featured image and we know that people will open the video, but not the blog!

The featured image dont work until a month ago in my facebook page and google+ .
