  Hey there!

  I would like to add an advertising to my blog and I don’t know how to proceed.
  I haven’t a Premium account, I just bought an .com extension.
  Could someone explain it to me?

  We do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can read more about here:

  Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed. For full details, please see:

  As you grow your site, I would encourage you to sign-up for our WordAds program.

  Another option if you require other advertising would be to check out a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.   The purpose of my question is that friends mine are beginning a nice project in my country and I wanted to support them by inserting their advertising on my blog. Isn’t it possible?

  Correct – if you were accepted into WordAds, the ads would be cookie-targeted towards your users. They would not be advertisements that you select.

  If you’re just looking to put an image on your sidebar that would help to spread the word about your friends’ project, that’s completely fine. However, if this turns into a paid sponsorship where you’re offering a link an image in your sidebar in return for payment, that is not accepted. Does that clarification help?
