Publicize "Custom Message" won't let me customize

  Hi all

  I’ve been writing and publishing posts on my site for ~3 years. I always used to be able to customize the message that accompanies my articles when it is sent out to my Twitter and Facebook accounts, but for the last several months it has not allowed me to do this. I hit “edit” in the Publicize section of the post editor, and the Custom Message just contains the title of the article; this text is “grayed out” and won’t allow me to edit this.

  When I publish the article, all that is tweeted out is the title of the piece and a link. It’s not the end of the world but i find customizing these messages to be more effective in pulling in traffic to the site, so I’d like to find a solution if possible. I have tried using different browsers (Chrome and Edge) to no avail; I did try disconnecting and re-connecting the social media accounts to my site, but again no luck – should I try this again?
