Publicize customization

Whenever I use publicize things are posted with the beginning of blog post typed up after the commentary I include with the link. I’d like for posts to show with either just my commentary or nothing at all, but I can’t figure out how to turn off this option.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Ruby,

I apologize for the troubles! I’m able to replicate the error, but it’s not a specific option to turn on/off on our end. Facebook scrapes each post’s information in odd ways sometimes and getting Publicize to deliver everything just right can sometimes be tough.

For instance, I use Publicize often for one my pages and this doesn’t occur there. I believe this is only because the post starts with an image:

It’s just not always consistent, because it depends on what the content is and how Facebook views it. The communication between the two entities is difficult.

I’ve reported this to our development team so they can look into it and see if we can make this more consistent. I’ll also double-check with them that custom message only (not custom message + the beginning of the content) is indeed how Publicize is intended to behave.

I’m sorry again for the inconvenience.

    Best,

    -Alex G.

Thanks for checking on that, Alex.

My posts tend to start with images, too, but it still does this weird thing. On Google+, too.

I’ll look forward to hearing what your developers say. Until then I’ll just have to share things manually.
