Publicize doesn't feed intro text to Facebook iPhone version (just photo/title)

I used to use the Networked Blogs app to feed my WordPress blog to Facebook and it used to work great (I set this up before the Publicize feature made it easy to do this). It would feed the main photo, title, and chunk of intro text (maybe a couple hundred characters).

I noticed more recently that while the feed worked on the desktop version of FB, the photo and intro text would be lost on the iPhone version of Facebook, so I decided to test the new Publicize functionality.

It worked better than Networked Blogs in that it pulled the photo and the title, but I’m still not getting the intro text from the post (first couple sentences). All it pulls in aside from the title and photo is the following: “wp.me”

Is there a way to modify this? I would really like it to pull my intro text as well. I’d also like to get rid of the “wp.me” unless it’s something useful.

  • Unfortunately, there’s really no way around this. We have no control over what Facebook chooses to include, we just notify them about the new post.

As for the wp.me, it’s the shortlink for your post’s URL, and it’s what we send with Publicize. There’s no way to change that at this time.
