Publicize – Facebook

I have two blogs. I dropped JetPack from one because I couldn’t get it to share my blogposts on facebook. Now I am having the same problem with the other, agediscriminationinemployment.com. It says its connected but it isn’t. If you can’t help me fix this, I’m going to drop JetPack. What a shame that this has become such a problem.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

You have that site connected to a personal profile on Facebook. As of 18 August Facebook no longer allows other services to auto-share content to personal profiles, only to Facebook pages. This is not a Jetpack issue, but a change that Facebook made and which affects all services which auto-share content to Facebook.

Thanks for responding – I see the problem. I guess I either have to post a link on Facebook with each article or go in another direction re. Publicize.

  • Consider creating a Facebook page and inviting your Facebook friends to follow that. But otherwise, manually sharing the links is the only other option to post to a Facebook profile now. Keep in mind that due to Facebook’s news feed algorithms, sharing links manually to your profile make it more likely that your friends will see it in any case – Facebook ranks auto-shared content lower than links that were shared manually.
