Publicize feature

  Dear Support,
  I have a question regarding the publicize feature on wordpress.com.

  At present I link the website, A Cry for Justice, to its FB account through my personal FB account. Yesterday our followers number dropped and we realized that the publicize feature to FB was not on. I am wondering if the fact that the publicize feature was disconnected is because I logged out of my personal FB account and shut off my computer? Did logging out somehow disconnect the publicize feature between the website and its FB page? I then logged back into my FB account and re-linked the publicize feature and all is well. Also, I have now set the Publicize settings to ALL USERS. I don’t know if that will make any difference

  This happened one time last month. I am trying to figure out if it is something I inadvertently did since I don’t have a solid understanding of this or if it was a glitch elsewhere.

  That’s odd, that should not have happened. I’ll tag this for a staff response, though another volunteer may be able to help you before they get to it.

  It looks like your Facebook connection is working properly, but there was an error publicizing a post from December.

  Otherwise, your posts should be appearing as normal.

  If you are scheduling your posts in advance, we have noticed intermittent issues with scheduled posts not always going out to social media. Please see:

  If you are publishing posts immediately and they are not going out to Facebook, please let me know the next time this occurs (but please hold off on posting it manually) so I can take a look.

  Thank you for taking the time to look into this for us. Yes, if we have this issue again, we will contact you before manually do anything so you can take a look.

  One question to clarify: Is it accurate to say that any problems with the publicize feature would not have stemmed from logging out of the FB account?

  @rjdetig I’m not sure I understand. If you have disconnected Facebook from your WordPress.com account, your posts will not publish to Facebook. If the connection is active, you don’t have to be logged into FB on your computer at the time your post is published, however.
