publicize function stats

I have noticed that our viewer stats have gone down. This happen right after we launched a campaign to get people to subscribe. Each reader subscribes with an email address, and they are automatically emailed the recently posted blog.

So, if they read the blog in emailed format, they don’t go to the site and consequently are not counted in our reader stats. Correct?

Since the email are publicized automatically by WordPress, is there a way or a plugin that would enable us to count the email “opens.”

    Hi Eddie,

If the post is read in the email it would not count towards your stats because they are not going to your site and we wouldn’t be able to change that because technically the readers are not visiting your blog.

However, you can change this by only sending a summary of the post in the email. This would essentially make your followers click on the post and go to your blog to read the rest of the post. You can do this by going to Settings > Reading in your Dashboard. Where it says “For each article in a feed, show” change the selection to Summary and click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

    Cheers!
