Publicize has stopped posting to Facebook

  I have been using the Publicize feature to have my posts show up on my Face Book page successfully but it has stopped working in this past week. The WordPress “follow blog” widget still works but Publicize does not. I have deleted the posts, recreated them and published again but no success.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Jenni,

  Did you potentially change your password at Facebook.com recently? This issue should be cleared up by removing and then re-adding your account as explained here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-services

  Thanks for your response, it all started well.

  Step 1 – deleted ok, wanted confirmation that I wanted to stop publicisizing posts – ok

  Step 2 – reloaded the page but the link doesn’t show “Create new Facebook connection” –

  Carried on to Step 3 – no WordPress app

  Got to Step 6 and as with Step 2 I did not see the “Create new connection” – it just defaulted to the old setting.

  Still the same problem but thanks for your suggestions. Any other ideas<

  Hi Jenni!

  Can you follow the steps here?

  1. Navigate to your sharing settings here:

     https://hsctmeandmoscow.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sharing

  2. Click the small “X” next to Facebook. This will remove the Facebook.com connection from WordPress.com
  3. Log into your Facebook account. Then go to your Facebook Account Settings→Apps page by clicking this App Settings link.
  4. Remove the WordPress.com app by clicking the X in its row. (If there is no WordPress.com row, don’t worry, just skip this step). If you see a popup asking for confirmation, click the “Remove” button.
  5. Do not check the box to delete content created by WordPress.com. This will remove all previously publicized posts and there is no way to recover them.
  6. Visit your Sharing settings again (same link as step #1) and click “Connect” to setup a new Facebook connection

  I just followed those steps, and I was able to get it to work on my side. Can you give it one more try?

  Perfect, once I realised that I was checking the apps list in facebook on the HSCT, Me and Moscow page!

  After that everything went smoothly.
