Publicize not Posting Publicly to Google Business Page

I am using Publicize to post to Google Plus. I have the settings to post to my personal profile set to “public” and it does so. However, my author page (a business page) which I also post to Publicize only posts as private and when I try to disconnect and reconnect it to try to set it to public it does not give me any options. I went to Google+ settings and it only lists the apps associated with my profile and not the page. Is there anything I can do to get Publicize to post publicly to my page?

I’ve looked into this for you and there are options to change the visibility options for business pages.
Here’s what you do (you probably know the first steps already, but I’m including them for the sake of completeness)
- Click the “add new” button under Google+ on your Publicize page (you knew that part already)
- If you have more than one google account, chose the one your page is connected to.
- Choose your page from the list
- Next to the second option, “Make your creative activity available via Google, visible to:” click the small pencil and add “Public” to the list. To do this you need to click inside the box that says “your circles”
- Click “accept” and you should be all set.

That is the thing, the second option with the small pencil does not appear that allows me to select the audience. At least I cannot see it. Once I select the page I want to post to the next thing to appear is a box with “WordPress would like to:” Below is “Have offline access.” Then there is an accept button. If I click that I get the popup saying “You have successfully connected your blog with your Google+ account.” And I have the option to make it available to all users of the page. And that is it.

I see what you mean.
When I added the permissions the first time the extra options were there, but when I removed the connection and tried to add it back, they were gone.
I”ve deleted your connection to Google+ completely from here. That should make it possible for you to start fresh.
Let me know if that works or if we need to troubleshoot further.

Thanks. It did not work, but it allowed me to figure out the problem was on Google’s end. The problem was that the app settings for pages are not on the main profile, but on the business page’s menu. Even then you have to look carefully. Anyway, I went to my Google + page, clicked on settings, scrolled down and clicked on “Manage apps and activities,” and on the next page I clicked on the apps tab. From there I was able to edit the WordPress app so it would post public. Thanks everyone for helping me figure this out! :)

First try this:

- go to your Google + page, clicked on settings (from the dropdown menu under home on the left side of the page)
- scroll down and clicked on “Manage apps and activities,”
- on the next page click the on the apps tab
- From there you can manage your Google plus settings.

Hi Liz,
I’m having a problem with my Publicize and Google Plus too.. I’m not sure about tagging along on this post, but I will tell you what’s happening. I have disconnected on Publicize and on Google Plus. I have reconnected and made sure the setting is to Public.If I’m logged into Google Plus as the business, I can see all of the posts – blog posts and also posts from a sendible account. If I view it as public, i can only see the sendible posts, no blog posts from wordpress.
I really don’t know what to do at this point. The site is MarryingLaterinLife.com – you can click the Google Plus link at the top to see the Google Plus page.
I was wondering if the sendible account is messing it up? But that doesn’t make sense if viewing the page as the business, I can see everything …

I see you have a self-hosted site, so I I’m not able to check into your settings to see what’s going on. If this problem persists, you might try asking in the WordPress.org support forum to see if any other self-hosted users have experienced this problem
