Publicize not tweeting a picture that is linked

Hi, when I publish my posts it automatically tweets through a twitter account. When I post an instagram/twitter link, it used to automatically tweet the picture linked to the instagram/twitter post. However now it’s not doing that anymore – it only tweets a picture when I upload to wordpress. What do I do wrong?

I don’t see anything that went wrong with this from our end. My best guess is that Istagram’s API may have been down or otherwise glitching when Twitter attempted to fetch the image.
If you upload the image to the post itself, you shouldn’t have any trouble.

I have no trouble if I upload the image to the post.
Don’t think it’s the Instagram/Twitter issue because it happens every time to me, but not to the other author I linked above.. And it used to work for me..But anyways thanks for your help!

If the issue is consistently not working with your account, you could try reconnecting Publicize: https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-services
My only other guess besides there being a problem on Instagram’s end is that the failed post had two Instagram images, where as the post that worked only had one, so it’s much easier for Twitter to identify and choose an image to embed.

I just tried that, cleared cookies on my browser and reconnected Publicize, only had one Instagram post and Twitter still doesn’t tweet the image.. Really not sure what went wrong.

I’m not seeing anything on our end that would be affecting this. It’s largely up to Twitter to identify that the image is present, and of course up to Instagram to serve that image. At the moment, either of those two appear to be the issue, especially after a successful reconnect.
