Why won't Facebook Publicize stay connected to my account?
-
This is the message I have on my draft:
==============================================
To enable Publicize: Facebook, you will need to authorize your WordPress.com account on Disperser Tracks to connect with your Facebook account.Clicking the link below will take you to Facebook where you will need to log in and click “allow” several times.
Authorize connection with Facebook
==============================================
The thing is I went through a number of times to enable it, including disabling it and turning it back on again. Even after I enable it, and it says it is enabled, and I publish, nothing shows up at my FaceBook wall.I can go right now to facebook, and it says the WordPress App is up and running.
This started when I changed my password on Facebook, and although I repeatedly ran through the connecting procedure, it still does not work.
Any ideas? Yes, I read your “Publicize” article, and in fact it’s open right now, having just gone through the process again.
I don’t know if it matters, but there is some other odd behavior associated with this.
Namely, when I enable Facebook, the “Save” button goes away, and only the “preview” button remains.
If I hit preview before I published, it used to open in a different tab or window, and I could just go back to the post I was writing by closing the preview. Now I have to go back by either hitting “back”, or going to my draft.
In both cases I get a message saying there is a newer version of my post from “autosave”. That’s also the case when I just leave my composition and then return to it at a later time; it gives me options for various auto-saves in addition to the draft I open.
Somewhat frustrating, and makes publishing a pain.
This has been going on for a few weeks, but the “contact” option was down. That means I went through the forums looking for similar issues, and I have not found anything quite like it.
Any ideas?

Can you try reconnecting your Facebook account at https://disperser.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sharing?
Also, can you please try clearing out your cache and cookies?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookiesIf that doesn’t do the trick, please try using a different web browser like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Please let me know how it goes.
Thanks

So, the good news is I got it to work.
The bad news is I got it to work before I read this response (I was hoping it would notify my automatically – – – it didn’t).
I deleted the app in Fecebook, I deleted the connection in WordPress, I logged off both.
I then went for my 5 mile walk, and reconnected everything when I got back, and it worked (still works – posted two entries with no problem).
It also fixed the problem with the posting, previewing, and saving a bunch of auto-backups (they were obviously related).
Seeing as I did not do anything different from what I had tried before, I’m guessing it’s the walk that did the trick.
Seriously, I have no idea why it worked. The only thing I did different than usual is I logged off both and walked away, but I generally log of both anyway, and it never seemed to help before, except that this time I actually logged off when the connection was not on.
As for the cache and cookies, that was not touched. At this point I can’t say what worked, unless logging off both reset some internal trigger no one told me about.
Anyway, hope this helps someone else. As for trying different browsers, that was the first thing I had tried, nearly two weeks ago. Opera, Chrome, FireFox, and IE. They all gave me the same type of errors (plus each added their own personal idiosyncratic twists).
