Publicize posting blogs from old wordpress.com and new wordpress.org sites
-
Hi, we did a guided transfer and our two weeks’ support is up, but we have two issues: 1. Scheduled posts from the wordpress.com have been transferred over, yet are still posting to facebook from the .com site and also now the .org site through Publicize. Those on the .org site are being posted with Page not found titles. Could you please advise?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A second issue is that links from one of the pages that was transferred no longer work e.g. Book reviews A-Z and the actual review.

When we transfer your content, it isn’t removed from your WordPress.com site. You’ll want to delete or unschedule these posts on your WordPress.com site:

As for how they’re publishing from your .org site, can you please give me a link to your post and a link to your Facebook page with the erroneous share? I can try to help you out with that.

It sounds like your URL structure may have changed. Can you please link me to the page with the broken links and the pages that are supposed to be linked?

Hi Shawna, I’ll go into the old blog and unschedule everything. This is the page with the broken links on the new .org site. http://www.sandradanby.com/book-reviews-a-z/
the pages they are supposed to be linked for example, taking the first three are: http://www.sandradanby.com/book-review-eeny-meeny/
http://www.sandradanby.com/book-review-pop-goes-the-weasel/
http://www.sandradanby.com/all-points-north-by-simon-armitage/The facebook page url is: https://www.facebook.com/sandradanbyauthor?ref=hl and today I agree with Vanessa Lafaye has appeared twice, once with a Page not found.
Thanks. -
Thanks so much for all of those links!
Facebook first, since that’s a quick one. The ‘Page not found’ error is caused by the link being shared from your WordPress.com site. Since all of the rest of your posts are no longer scheduled to publish from WordPress.com, this shouldn’t happen again.
As for the book review links, they’re currently pointing to your WordPress.com shortlinks. For example, the first link goes to this URL:
Which then gets filled out to:
http://www.sandradanby.com/2014/05/03/book-review-eeny-meeny/
On your new site, you don’t include the date in your URL:
http://www.sandradanby.com/book-review-eeny-meeny/
So, there are two ways you can fix this. The first is by going through the book reviews page and updated all of those links. The second is to change your URL format to include the post dates again.
Here’s how you can edit links:

And here’s some information about permalink URL structure in WordPress:

Let me know if I can help further!
