publicize problems

  Hi

  When I publish a post, I auto publicise it to Facebook (amongst other services). The Facebook post that is created, however, is not satisfactory as it pulls the start of the post as well as the first image into a facebook post but it ignores any custom message I put on the post before posting (in the publicise box) and it also doesn’t add a link to my wordpress post in the facebook post.

  Can you help?

  Hi Kate,

  Could you give me an example of a post where this occurred? If you could send me a link to a post on your WordPress site, as well as a screenshot of how it appeared on Facebook that would be great.

  Could you send me a shot of your full Facebook page (including the messed up post) so I can see it in context?

  If you don’t want other people to be able to see it, just put it in your media library but don’t post a link here, I’ll still be abel to see it.

  It does. Are you publicizing to your Facebook profile, or a Facebook page? I tested Publicize with a page and it works as expected, but Facebook may handle posts to your profile differently.

  I just tested with my Facebook Profile and still wasn’t able to replicate the problem.

  You might try disconnecting your Publicize connection and reconnecting, but my sense is this is one of those things that will be weird for awhile and then fix itself.
