"Publicize to Facebook" not working properly

    I’m having problems with the Publicize to Facebook feature. My blog posts are being pushed to Facebook, but they appear only on my wall. They do not appear in the News Feed (I have validated with several Facebook friends that they are not seeing my posts). I don’t know how long the problem has existed — at least a few days, possibly longer.

    When “publicize” problems have occurred in the past, I’ve seen visible evidence on WP that it wasn’t working (i.e.; being asked repeatedly to log in to Facebook). And I’ve been able to fix the problem by disabling the feature on FB and WP, and then re-enabling via WP.

    But this time, I haven’t received any error messages, and on the WP side it looks like everything is functioning normally. The same fix might solve my problem this time, but my bigger concern is that I couldn’t even tell I was having a problem until a friend commented that they weren’t seeing my posts.

    I seem to have a recurring problem with “Publicize,” in that every few months I need to disable/re-enable. I will try the fix before my next post, but would appreciate any help you can provide to resolve this.

    As long as a post appears on your Wall, it will appear in your News Feed, but only if you have no hidden items from WordPress.com.

    Publicize only publicizes to your Wall, and your News Feed is just a collection of posts from your Wall and your friends’ Walls.

    macmanx, what you described is what should happen, and it used to happen, but it’s not happening now. That’s why I reported the problem.

    I just published a post and I can see it on my wall but not in my News Feed. And it doesn’t appear in my friends’ News Feeds, either. Before publishing this post I disabled/re-enabled the publicize feature on FB and on WP, but that had no effect when I published my latest post.

    You mention “only if you have no hidden items from WordPress.com”. I’m not sure what you mean, but if you can explain I’d be glad to look into it.

    I would appreciate help to determine why this problem is occurring and how to fix it.

    We have no control over what moves from the Wall to the News Feed. That’s done entirely on Facebook’s end. We just publicize to your Wall.
