Publicize to Google broken!

  I tried posting this a few days ago, but now no trace of post on forum when searching…

  Anyhow – not sure how long this has been happening (but probably quite some time), but automatic posting to Google+ is not making the posts there public – they are shared only with me.

  They used to be posted as public.

  Any ideas what is going wrong with Publicize and any ideas on when it will be fixed?

  @timethief many thanks for the suggestions.

  I had already tried disconnecting and reconnecting Google+. But I hadn’t known about having to also revoke permission in Google’s own settings.

  Also, I have now followed the instructions in the Changing who can see your publicized posts on Google+ section of https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#google.

  This, however, refers to a page (https://plus.google.com/apps) in the old ‘Classic’ Google+. The closest I can find by navigating the menus in the new Google+ is https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions, but this does not seem to have the same options with regards to setting visibility.

  Any ideas on how to access this functionality through the new Google+?

  Anyhow, I have tried setting it for now via the old legacy page using the direct link and will wait to see if this resolves the issue next time I post.

  I’ve managed to find Google’s documentation on how to access the appropriate ‘manage apps’ page from within the new Google+

  Computer

  • Go to Google+.
  • Click Home .
  • Click Settings .
  • Under “Manage other apps & activity”, click Manage apps & +1s on posts.
  • Under “Visible to”, click Edit for the app that you want to manage.
  • Make your changes using the drop-down menu, then click Save.

  There is, however, a step missing in their instructions above. From Settings, you have to first click ‘MANAGE‘ in the General section before you can get to ‘Manage other apps & activity‘
