Publicize: Twitter – not working?
-
I usually send my new blog posts direct to twitter using the publicize option, but for the last few days it has not worked. All I get it my post title and no shortlink automatically added. Anyone else got this issue?
Cheers

I did a forum search and found this for you.
1. Log into your WordPress.com blog. Go to your blog’s dashboard -> My Blogs -> uncheck “Twitter” under “Publicize”.
(On the “My Blogs” page, make sure you’re looking at the correct row for the blog in question.)2. Reload the page and confirm that the twitter checkbox is unchecked.
3. Clear your browser’s cookies (this clears some cookies that twitter sets which I think are causing part of the problem).
Google has a good tutorial on how to clear your browser’s cookies for any browser:http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
4. Log *back* into your WordPress.com blog. Go to your blog’s dashboard -> My Blogs -> *reclick* “Twitter” under “Publicize”.
5. Wait for the popup to appear that asks you to “Authorize connection with Twitter”. Click that button.
6. Sign in to Twitter and click “Allow”.

I hope it works for you. Please post again after your try to let us know how things work out.

Didn’t work unfortunately. I still just get the post title and no shortlink. Not a major issue, but saved some time for me.
Thanks anyway

NERTS! Do you want to report this to Staff? http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
P.S. I use the social bookmarks from http://getsociallive.com on my posts and they automatically update Twitter and Facebook.

They do? Could you explain that a bit? Apparently, I missed something again. -
@taletellerin
Create post and when ready to publish open another tab http://hetsociallive.com
Copy and paste title into the Post Title field.
Copy and paste shortlink into Post Permalink field.
Select icon style by clicking
Click “GetSocial” button
The code will be generated and appear in the box and will already be on your clipboard.
Go back to the post in the other tab and click “HTML” in the editor if you have been working in the Visual editor.
Paste the code at the end of the post.
Publish the post.
Both your Twitter and Facebook accounts will be autoupdatedshortly thereafter.
It takes only minutes to add social bookmarks to the end of your posts. It actually took me much longer just to type this out here. :) -

If you follow the instructions and you do have Twitter and Facebook accounts there is nothing to be done after inserting the bookmarks into the HTML editor and publishing the post. It’s automatic. If that’ updating is not happening for you please contact Hillel Stoler here and let him know you have a problem http://getsocialserver.wordpress.com/contact/

Thanks! I’ll have a closer look myself first and if I still can’t get to the reason, I’ll definetely contact him.

The getsocialive bookmarks have always worked well for me. Are you sure you are entering the code you generate for each post into the HTML editor?
