Publicize with Google , Long Excerpt published not custom message

  I’ve connected my WordPress blog using Jetpack to my Google+ page. However, the custom excerpt gets posted in addition to the first 250 characters or so of each article. I only want the custom message I set in the WP editor to show up. How can I fix this? See example here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/100076692858086836216/posts
