Unable to connect to Facebook

Also Facebook for WooCommerce Plugin is not getting updated to new version on WordPress admin page as it is in continuous loop & going back to current version 1.9.10 & new update version display 1.9.12 however this is not getting updated.

I am having the same issues as well. Tried connecting over and over, not working, Now will not connect to Facebook at all.

Have Facebook really not got back in touch yet with any information?
No doubt this is having a massive impact on ALOT of business across the globe, and given something has clearly changed, and we’re dealing with tech companies, I can’t understand why it is taking this long for them to at least give some sort of response about the issue currently.
Obviously, not on Automattic at all… no doubt you guys are as frustrated as the rest of us.

Glad am not alone. I’ve checked recent posts and find Publicize lists Facebook but, unlike Linked-In it doesn’t show a tick. So I then select FB and tick appears, hit OK and then ‘Update’ BUT see the Facebook linkage not shown – ie. still inactive!
We’ll probably find FB’s filters are blocking WP. It’s very user-unfriendly compared to WP.

NOT WP ISSUE – FOR INFO: One of my FB readers reports, “They make me so mad!! For 2 days I got nothing but old posts and they just automatically unfriended some of my friends from me!”

Even there is error in connecting LinkedIn Profile through Jetpack WordPress login. Giving following error:
Could not update the Publicize connections on the remote Jetpack site. No Publicize connection created.
That sounds like an unrelated error with the Jetpack plugin. Please contact Jetpack support for help with that:

The Facebook for WooCommerce plugin is a WordPress plugin made by Facebook, and has nothing at all to do with either WordPress.com or with the Publicize option being discussed in this thread.

The problem appears that Facebook is not granting us the permissions they’re supposed to to let us make the connection and, most importantly, publish to your Facebook page. There has been no changes to how those permissions are requested from our end, so something must have changed on Facebook’s.
It’s most likely a bug on their end rather than an intentional change, as they’re usually very good at informing people who use their API of upcoming changes, but we’re still waiting to hear back from our contacts over there.
For now it won’t really help to try and reconnect, but we’ll update here as soon as that changes.

I’ve mentioned it earlier on this thread, but it’s on a previous page so repeating here:
For now, please share posts to your Facebook pages manually by copying the post URL, and then pasting it in a new status update directly on Facebook. Even if Publicize is already connected, it seems to be failing sharing to Facebook in most cases.
We’ll update here as soon as we know more.

Facebook supports Publicize connections to Facebook Pages, but not to Facebook Profiles.
That’s correct. Facebook previously made changes on their end which means it’s no loner possible to share posts to Facebook profiles, only Pages.
We don’t have any more information about the connection issue just yet but when we do, we’ll share an update in this thread.

Correction please: My blog has only ever been able to download to its Fb Page for years, but is now no longer able to do so. It wasn’t until a couple of months ago that I could use a personal profile, which meant I could see both my blog Page and profile on same FB screen. I could no longer, however post direct to the Page but my WP blog’s posts all appeared via Publicize without any problem until this week.
In other words, Publicize isn’t yet working properly with FB Pages – have just tried updating unconnected blog but without any success.

I am already publishing on pages and not a personal page and publishing was working 48 hours ago and stopped

To wait until Facebook let us know what they changed, and when they will have resolved the issue, or published the changes so that Automattic can update the API if required.
It’s on FB it seems, so until FB fix what is stopping access to their API (or at least part of it) it will not work.

I have readers on Fb reporting they’ve been unable to use its links to connect into and read my blog.
Also, after my earlier attempts to reinstate Fb Publicize I was fortunate to check the blog on my phone over lunch only to find yesterday’s post that I’d stuck to home page this morning had completely disappeared. AND I couldn’t get into WP’s App to investigate! So back on PC I had to dig around and found this new post had somehow got into trash can!!! Maybe it had accidentally happened whilst trying to reconnect to FB in Publicize?? -

I agree that it must’ve been an accident the post ended up in the trash. It is unrelated to the Publicize issue.
