Publicizing to Twitter and New Followers

  I used to get 30+ new followers a week ~ it was consistent, mathematical. I haven’t had a new follower in several weeks (I post weekly). The site is set to automatic post to twitter – and it just stopped about three weeks ago, even though it was set automatically, correctly. Is it harder to follow a site, now? And is there something that happens when you hit 2000 followers? Am I then eligible for advertising or something? It just seems odd…
