  It appears the WordPress software has been updated? I now do not have the “Publish” button so I cannot get the post out there. Help?

  The site linked to your name is not a WordPress.com blog. Is that the site you’re talking about? If so, you’re in the wrong forum and need to be at WordPress.org instead.
