publish date

hey guys, I’m experiencing a problem with the publishing of my blog posts, and I hope you can help. The problem I have is that when I start a draft (let’s say on a Friday), work on it a couple days then publish it a few days later (let’s say on Monday) the published post actually appears on the wordpress reader as published on the day I started the draft, which means pretty low on the list, surrounded by entries that are already a few days old – so my post doesn’t appear as new. That’s kind of a bummer to me because then it gets lost in a sea of older posts and people miss it. Why is it doing that? Is there a way to fix it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

In the finished published post in your example, does the date of the post itself on your blog show up with a publication date of Friday or Monday?

Also, when you publish, are you making sure the date is correct right before you click the “Publish” button?

Well when you click “publish immediately”, you don’t get to choose the date so I can’t check if it’s right or not. And when I look back at the post on my blog, it writes that the post was published on the 24th, when really it was published on the 25th, I just started the draft on the 24th. It’s happened more than once on my blog, and one time I actually had to copy paste the text into a new post and delete the old one because the date I started the draft was like 10 days before, and it simply wouldn’t show on the news feed since it was so old. I think there’s a problem with the website.

See the images I link to below and know that in the publish module you can edit any datestamp and timestamp of any draft prior to publishing any post.

    Hey thanks a lot! :)

Actually… I just checked, and I DON’T have the “edit” button next to the publishing options. Is it because I have a free account?
