Publish date change is hurting my ranking
-
My original post was: https://kona-hi.com/2015/09/20/snorkeling-in-kona/
It has done well in search ranking.
I changed the publish date and short url to:
https://kona-hi.com/2017/01/01/snorkeling-diving/
Now when you find the original url: https://kona-hi.com/2017/01/01/snorkeling-diving/ in Google the page says:
“Oops! That page can’t be found.
It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?”
Is there any way I can redirect the original link to match the new link? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy ryan!
On my end, the snorkeling-in-kona link prompted the “Oops!” page and the snorkeling-diving link showed a page with the title “Snorkel and Dive in Kona”
It may have taken a while for the change to process, hence why the url wasn’t working for a while. If you’re talking about upon googling the article you receive that error, could you provide what you searched to find the link?
