  When adding a new post I have no publish option on the right hand side just an outline of the box with nothing in it.

  Sounds weird. It might be some browser related issue. Could you please try clearing your cache and cookies, and see if it works afterwards? To check out how to do this in the browser you’re using, please click here:

  Please let me know if the problem still persists after doing this.
