Publish, Save draft, preview page not working

Hey guys,
I’m trying to make a new page for my blog, but whenever I hit publish (or save draft or preview) I get a loading bar at the top of the page that takes forever and finally just freezes with a tiny bit left. I have left this for a few hours and it does not advance. This problem also occurs when I try to create a new post.
Everything else works fine, I have had no delays in loading and no slow response anywhere else. The page I am trying to make is a contact page, simple, just text with no fancy formatting, but I experimented a little and this is happening whenever I try to make any new page.

Thanks for the advice! I’m using chrome and it is the latest version. However I did find a fix for my problem. I had been trying to edit via
https://wordpress.com/stats/%5Bblogname%5D.wordpress.com
and found that things work much better at
https://%5Bblogname%5D.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.phpThe latter is the site I’m much more used to working with (I thought wordpress had updated and was disappointed). Though I still get redirected to the first site and occasionally have to manually go back to the second (which is very annoying), in general things seem to be working.
