Published article disappeared
-
Earlier today I published a post and it showed up fine on the site. Some hours later I came back home and I viewed the published post again, did a small edit and did save. My earlier logged in session still seemed to be active. Then I did some browser backs to an earlier screen in my wordpress session. At some point I clicked on Visit site. I noticed the earlier published article was gone. I went to check in my Manage posts section and I see only an earlier small draft version of the post!!!!
Anybody knows what might have happened and is there a way to retrieve the post ? This is really wierd. Did going back in someway destroyed the post even though I only did not after I did a save after a minor edit on the full/final version of the post.

Just wanted to add, after publishing I did view the post on my mobile phone. So I know it was published for sure.

Have you checked Google or Yahoo? If they had indexed your site, the post is out there somewhere.
Editing doesn’t delete posts. The save and delete buttons are close together, though, so I guess it’s possible that you could have accidentally hit the wrong button. That’s the only thing I can think of.

Google search does yield the summary of the latest post, but the cache is old. oh shoot.. i have to remind myself to use an external editor next time.. i am pretty sure I did not hit the delete button, because it provides an additional prompt and i did not see that prompt when i thought i hit the save button.

Can we get a link to the POST in question, starting with http? You’ll also find it saves a lot of time if you link your username to your blog via the instructions here:

Thanks for the tip. I was not sure if that field can be the wordpress blog. Anyway I went ahead and rewrote the post. I started using an external editor.
