When I publish my blog it says it is written by someone else. But if you click on the link it takes you to my blog. How can I fix it so my blog shows up with me as the author and not someone else?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The Skylark theme evidently doesn’t show author attributions on the posts page, thoug it does on single posts. You might be able to modify that with CSS customization, but you might want to consider looking at other themes which do provide author attribution on the posts page.

Thanks! But it used to say I was the author; but my past two blog posts showed up as someone else when I posted them on FaceBook. I’ve looked at everything and can’t seem to figure it out. I may have to switch themes to see if that helps. So frustrating!

Oh. The Facebook issue wasn’t mentioned in the original post. Does the author name attached to the posts at Facebook resemble your author name? I wonder if your issue might be similar to that described in another topic that was resolved today. See the topic another blog’s name instead of mine???

I realized after asking my question I didn’t mention FB. Thank you so much!! Thanks for the link, that was my issue too. I didn’t realize the web address was incorrect…thanks for your help :)

    Hi @lauriedickan,

I suspect musicdoc1 is correct here if the issue only occurs when you Publicize your post to Facebook. Facebook uses the Web Address field populated here as the author attribution for your post:

    https://wordpress.com/me/account

If you could provide an example though, I’ll be happy to double-check! For example, could you upload a screenshot of what you see when you Publicize a post to Facebook? Screenshot instructions can be found here:

    Take a Screenshot

Then, let me know what you expected to see instead!

    @ jeremylduvall,

Thanks for the link, that was my issue too. I didn’t realize the web address was incorrect..

I’ve believe they’ve corrected the error at the account settings page, but didn’t know that they should then mark the topic resolved.

I’ve been trying to do a screen shot but can’t get it to show up here…I’ve done the print screen thing but when I try to paste it here it won’t give me that option

I thought this was fixed but today when I posted to FB it still says the author is by Tales from Wrestling School instead of Laurie Dickan.

I fixed the web address but I just don’t know how to fix this further.

    Hi Laurie!

Can you upload the image that you got from the Print Screen command here?

    https://ourjourneywithjake.wordpress.com/wp-admin/media-new.php

Just let me know when it’s uploaded, and I’ll take a look!

Thanks! I took a look, and this confirmed my suspicions. It looks like we’re sending everything correctly on our side. If you run the URL of your post through the Facebook Debugger (a fancy tool that shows you what Facebook sees at your URL), you’ll see this among other data points:

    <meta property="article:author" content="https://ourjourneywithjake.wordpress.com/author/lauriedickan/" />

However, Facebook is still displaying the wrong information. This is likely due to how Facebook caches information. Unfortunately, there’s not much we can do from our side. It should update soon!

Wow, thanks for taking time to look into this for me; a lot of people think it’s not my blog and aren’t reading it. Look forward to this getting fixed. Thank you for all of your help!!

This should update on its own within the next several days once Facebook looks for new information rather than just displaying cached information.
