So I sent out my blog today and for some reason the “publish date” was set for feb 17, so when I published it today it went to the bottom of the page (below any posts posted after Feb 17). This was the date I started drafting the post so I get why it was doing that, however because my “permalinks” are set to do date then title it went out to readers as…

ANYWAYS in doing so the email I sent out to my subscribers with the link was no longer valid so they all got a “page not found” when they click on it. Three questions…
1. why are my drafts showing up when I publish them as the date I created them? I then have to manually go in and change them to todays date.
2. how can i resent the email out to my subscribers with the new valid link?
3. I can’t seem to find the darn permalinks I was thinking I could change the permalink to not feature the date and this would prevent this from happening again. But for some reason I can’t find them under settings!Thank you for your time! I

I’m going out on a limb and guessing that it’s one of the numerous glitches of the new “improved posting experience.” The WP devs have a marvelous sense of humor.

You can’t.

The settings you refer to in that “improved” thingy might be in the “Change Status” drop-down menu. But my suggestion is that you switch for good to the old, unimproved post editor, which works quite well, with far fewer unexpected surprises.
