Hi there,
Can you give me a link to a post with a video that isn’t playing? Also, can you give me all the details about the mobile device you’re using (the kind of device, the browser you use on it, etc.)?
I checked your blog on an iPhone 6 using Safari and the videos played for me without any trouble, but if you’re using a different device I can also check there to see what’s going on. :)

My readers are having the same problem: they can’t watch my recent video on their I-Pads. It seems to work for previous ones. Since I changed nothing, can it have to do with your recent changes to Videopress?

Hi wpvins,
Can you give me a link to a post where your readers are having trouble with the video? That will help me investigate this for you. :)

There’s a video in this post that used to play fine on iPad.

Doesn’t play in either safari or google chrome but fine on different browsers on PC. I haven’t changed anything on the posts. Perhaps it is to do with video press? Appreciate any help with this thanks

Hi rachelmcr,
Thanks for your speedy reply. It is much appreciated. The link to the post in questions is https://pitsfritztownnews.wordpress.com/2015/07/08/hilmar-jung-road/
In previous posts [see e.g. here https://pitsfritztownnews.wordpress.com/2015/05/25/videos-of-the-deluge/%5D people didn’t seem to have any difficulties.
I hope this’ll help you to identify the problem. -
I have a report that VideoPress videos are not playing properly on a Samsung Tablet Model GT-N8013 which uses Android type operating system. This tablet will play YouTube and Vimeo videos OK.
The VideoPress video will play for about 2 seconds and then just freeze-up.

Thanks for those details! I reported these mobile video issues to our team and will follow up here as soon as I have more information from them about it.

I don’t want to rush you, but it’s been quite a while since we’ve heard from you. Have you been able to check on my blog, and maybe even found out why the videos aren’t played on i-Pads any more? -
Hi there,
I reported that issue to our team and our team is looking into it, but we haven’t been able to resolve it yet. I’ll let you know as soon as I know more! :)

I posted to WordPress: ‘the video’s that support my blogpost, don’t work on the ipad (mac and iphone are oke). What can be the problem?’
I understand by the email i received and by this forum that more people have this problem and that WordPress is aware of it.
I hope it will be solved quickly, because the video’s are essential for my blogs.aardewijn.wordpress.com

@rachelmcr
Has the team been able to resolve the wordpress-video problem (on the iPad) yet?
Can you please give us a short update?
Thank you very much. -
@rachelmcr
Same here: an update would really be appreciated. It can’t take the tech team THAT long to come up with something. Or, if you’re not interested in solving our problem, just let us know. -
@wpvins
@aardewijn
rachelmcr will post here as soon as she hears back from the tech team and has an update to post. -
Hi there,
I’m sorry, I don’t have any updates from our developers about this issue yet — we’ve had a number of reports about it but I don’t have a timeline for when our team will be able to fully investigate and resolve the issue.
As soon as I get an update or any more details that might help with this, I will let you know!
-
@rachelmcr
Hi,Will you be so kind and ask the tech team when it is planned?
I think the issue is important enough.Thank you
-
I agree. Thanks for getting back to us @rachelmr but this is quite a long time to not even know why this is happening. Are updates/changes not tested on various devices? It is quite clearly perplexing when you haven’t changed anything on your blog post and now there is a static image where a video used to play. Hope this can be resolved soon. Thanks
