Published Wrong Date
-
I am beyond frustrated at the moment. I just published a post and instead of using the date on which I hit ‘Publish’ it used the date that I started the post, which was the 29th. I checked my settings, and my current time and date looks fine, but for some reason a post which should have registerd as the 31st has gone down as the 29th, which of course means its buried in any tag searches. I’m losing hits because of this and I don’t know how to fix it.
This comes at the end of a long day struggling with the interface you guys have created, which is beyond crazy now. I cannot properly edit my tags and categories using the new format, but I can’t always get to the old format from just any page on the website. I really don’t know why y’all decided to ruin the interface. What you had a couple years ago was great; now it’s confusing as hell, and I am REALLY tired of answering the same damned poll whenever I try to get to the old interface. You don’t care about that feedback, so please remove this completely unhelpful step from the confusion you have already created.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This:

…is the new format. I don’t like the distribution of options to the right, and the table is awfully small. More importantly, the buttons on the left side aren’t nearly as useful as the old ones. When for example I tried to delete categories, it simply didn’t let me. I had to do it from the old style dashboard.I much prefer this interface:
https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?poll=1&blog=28498392
…for reviewing my stats. But if I want to use the buttons to the left, then I need this:
https://northierthanthou.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=stats
…but that page is hard to navigate to. There are a number of pages for the site hat give me no option to go back to my dashboard.
There are simply too many different control-type pages and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. I find hat I am wasting enormous amounts of time shifting back and forth between different pages trying to figure out what can be done from them. What used to be a highly intuitive system is now a maze of options without any real logic to them. It’s not fun and sometimes it makes use of your site REALLY difficult.

First, I just want to let you know that we do appreciate your feedback, and we’re trying very hard to make the new interface as useful as possible. There are some elements (like category/tag modules) that aren’t in the new interface yet, but we’re looking to add them!

I believe you’re referring to the post titled “Adam and Eve and the Sewing Needle.” Is that correct? If so, you can adjust the publish date here:
https://northierthanthou.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=post
Hover over the post and use the Quick Edit button shown here. Can you give that a try?

Can you clarify what you mean here? You will not be able to edit already established tags/categories just yet, but you should be able to add them to posts. We’re planning on adding the ability to edit previously established categories/tags to the new interface, but you can use your classic dashboard until that time here:
