Publisher Theme – Choppy Scrolling Within Posts

    Hey,

    I’m looking to purchase the Publisher theme, but I noticed that the scrolling lags in posts with a Featured Image. I’m concerned because ideally, most posts would use a Featured Image.

    To better illustrate my point, this post from the demo has a Featured Image:

    This one doesn’t:

    While having each post open in a tab and switching between the two, the scrolling is noticeably slower/choppy in the first.

    It’s happening in Chrome, Firefox and IE9, but not in IE10. I haven’t tested Safari.

    Before going ahead with the theme, I’d like to make sure that posts with a Featured Image scroll fluently in Chrome and Firefox (and if applicable, Safari).

    Howdy,

    I’m seeing a slight difference between the two. That theme is developed by a third-party developer, so I’m passing this on to them for their consideration.

    The featured image is being loaded with a javascript function to allow it to fill the full space, no matter the size, which may be the cause of the added “weight”, which may be more noticeable on different browsers or computers, dependent on how efficient the browser’s javascript engine is.

    If you decide to purchase, you’ll be able to post in that forum and interact directly with the developer. There is a 30-day refund policy, so you can try it and if it isn’t meeting your needs, still get a refund.
