Publishing A Post With The Wrong Date AND TIME
-
I just published a post and then couldn’t find it. I finally found it. My question is why does it say May 6th instead of May 19th. My settings are set for correct time and month in the Eastern time zone. What’s going on?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s been 1 week or so and I have no answers. This is unacceptable. I want an answer or answers. Please answer this thread.

The default timezone is UTC time. Provided you are logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog, you can reset your timezone here > Settings > General. Select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu you see there and then click “save changes”.

It’s unfortunate that this thread fell through the cracks but given the number of threads you have started (30) in such a short period of time (4 months) and the detailed help you have required in each one I am not surprised this one got missed.

P.S. You failed to provide the URL of the post you refer to above. Is it this one?

@daisymae2017 and let me add that there are hundreds of new posts made in these forums every day by other users wanting a response to their question as well. Sometimes threads can be overlooked by our forum volunteers, or you posted your question at a time when no one was around, or they may not have an adequate answer to offer. Please be patient.
If you wish to receive a more timely response, you are eligible for direct Staff assistance by purchasing one of the WordPressdotcom upgrade plans.
Otherwise, all the information about working with your WordPressdotcom site can be found in our Support site at https://en.support.wordpress.com/

timethief, I know that. However, it was set for Eastern time zone the date is correct and was correct when the post was written so why did this happen and can I change the date? If so, How do I change the date on a published post?

justjennifer, I think it’s sad and unacceptable that the threads are not taken in the order as they come in but you take them as whether or not they’ve got a paid plan or not. Not only is that discrimination but unfair. I can’t afford a paid plan. But the way you do things with the threads are unacceptable. Just know I appreciate the help.
-
Perhaps you didn’t get an instant solution because volunteers couldn’t see what the issue was. You never did give @timethief the title of the post you are having problems with. I don’t see any post dated 6th May on your site.
There is one dated 19th May though.PS: If you really need to change the date on a post in the My Sites post editor you just click on “Edit” “Post Settings” and “Status” on the right.
-
themagicrobat, I just changed date and time so you wouldn’t of seen a May 6th if you just looked.

timethief,I’m sorry about that. I thought I had. Due to your help and links, I was able to change date and time. Thanks for helping.

You’re welcome.
I advise using the support docs at https://en.support.wordpress.com/ and noting the link that our Moderator provided above
https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2016/01/14/help-with-wordpress-com/Mastering anything new like website creation and management is rooted in using your own initiative to locate and use the resources provided like support docs, forum tags searches, and Google searches to resolve your issues as quickly as possible. You have given rise to my concern for your happiness and success more than once because only learning how to become self reliant will lead to success and the self satisfaction that flows from figuring things out on your own.

@daisymae2017 I’m glad that the information timethief provided you helped you find a solution and I echo her sentiment about learning to use the resources available to you.

In order to clarify further regarding WordPressdotcom support, the Community Forums are a place where anyone can give or get assistance with their free WordPressdotcom site. Our volunteers (noted by the word “Member” or “Moderator” under their username) who give generously of their time and energy to reply here are, like you, fellow WordPressdotcom users. If we volunteers are not able to help resolve an issue (like with technical problems, such as notifications), we tag the thread for Staff attention.
WordPressdotcom users who have chosen to upgrade to a paid plan receive direct Staff support by email and live chat. Their support tickets do not appear in our Community forums.
Answering forum threads in the order they are posted is a welcome suggestion, and thank you for making it.
I hope that helps explain a bit more about how support works on WordPressdotcom. Should you wish to read further:
