Publishing an entry shows html code instead of preview text

I have a HTML block in an entry and when I publish it the entry shows the html code instead of the preview text. Is there a way to fix this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Can I see this on your homepage?  Or is it a specific place I need to look at? Also is this HTML code that you authored yourself? Or is it an “embed code” of some kind and if so can you share with who you are getting the code from?

    Thanks for pointing it out!

    1. Sure thing! Thank you for your time here is the page that I’m having problems with

It’s weird because it seems that when I hit publish some HTML code gets deleted or something like that.

    2. Yes I worked on an essay in an app called Notion and got the HTML code of my essay from it, it is mine.

    3. It is not embedded, I copied and pasted it from a file from Notion.

In my page there are some links that lead to nowhere but the important thing is that HTML code is all over the place for some reason D:

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for that information!

It doesn’t look like that code is permitted – it almost looks like a whole page within itself.

    3. It is not embedded, I copied and pasted it from a file from Notion.

What’s this code for exactly? Where does Notion come into play with the website? Perhaps we can offer some insights.

oh that seems right haha I mean well I guess I can share the HTML code. To clarify, I don’t know anyhing about HTML I just pasted the code from a Notion page.

Unfortunately this won’t work for making a WordPress post. You will have to copy – paste the text as is from your Notion app, without HTML formatting. You should also upload the pictures yourself in your post editor.

Think of it as writing the article in any word processor. The formatting will be done by your current used WordPress theme. Do you need to do any special formatting on your text? By looking at your site I see you have successfully published other posts which look fine.

  • Hello there,

Many thanks for sharing the code – because there’s quite a lot code there, we’ve redacted this.

    @viawormholes
is correct – you would be better off copying the text without the formatting there.

Oh well :c I guess I will have to copy – paste. Thank you all for the advice and the help.
