I am trying to display my pages with Headers and Footers only. This has worked up to now but I am now getting this message :
Publishing/update failed. Invalid parameter(s): templateWP.com: Yes

When you mention about using Headers and Footers – what do you mean exactly?
That’s an odd message you’re seeing – can you tell me if you’re seeing this after clearing the browser cache please? https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache

Using the settings button I was using TEMPLATE : HEADER AND FOOTER ONLY, so that the page did not display the page name. This worked fine. Now when I try to update a page it displays the message : update failed. Invalid parameter(s): template -
@seanhesketh would you be willing to create a new, private page as a test, and try to set its template?
Then, would you allow us to test updating that page ourselves to see if we can see the same error? I haven’t been able to duplicate it yet.

Oh, in the meantime, you might do well to change those pages titles. We’ll update you when the right template option is working, too.

What I’m trying to do is very simple, but I think I’ve made it a little elegant.If the problem cannot be solved I can throw away the “Xmas stocking” stuff, which is temporary, and, perhaps, re-house the “Miscellaneous letters” content on a page that does work properly.
I am possibly too old to deal with this well. But I spent a lot of time in the 1990s troubleshooting software problems for an off-track betting company in the United Kingdom.

I did tech stuff in the 90s as well :D If that makes you old, then I am, too.
Still, if you’re fine leaving things as is until this is resolved, that’s okay.

You could put my mind at rest; I hope the work I have done on the unspoilt pages with the italic headings only is safe and that I can transfer the material from the last two pages (with the spoilt format), to the unspoilt pages, without the risk of spoiling them.

This bug with page templates should be fixed now. Can you try changing the template on your page again? Let me know if you still run into any issues.
