One of our blog authors received this message as he was trying to publish his post. Any idea why he received this message, and what can be done to avoid this in the future? I was able to go in and publish his post as the admin without any issues though. Thank you!

Which user had this problem? Have you made sure their role is set to Author and not Contributor?
Contributors will be able to create and edit posts but not publish them. Authors should be able to do all that, but only with posts created by themselves. -
Hi there, it’s Lucas Davis and he is an Admin on the account so should have full control. He also publishes blog once a month and has never encountered this issue. Any other ideas as to what the issue was?
Also, on our stats page yesterday (8/9) as of 8:50 AM, we had over 900 views and 43 visitors. Was it some sort of bot pinging our page over and over again? That is an unusual number.

The error itself is pretty common to see if there was a connection issue or if the person had logged out of their account. The logged out example happens more frequently than you might expect. Especially when working within multiple tabs, windows, and even devices.
The best thing to do here is treat this as a one-off instance and likely will not occur again. If it does, they should…
1. Make sure they are still logged in.
2. Make sure their internet connection is alive and well.If this happens again and both of those two items above are in check, please let us know and we’ll take another look.
As for the stats, I did a deep dive on that and see no activity to lead us to believe that those are anything but real visitors to your site. Often times sources like social media can account for this kind of activity.

One other solution is saving the draft, logging out and then clearing the browser cache and cookies (which will also log him/her out of every site they are currently logged in to) and then logging back in to WordPress.com. https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache Hope that helps!
