Publishing in 2.7

  I’m the admin of my blog and everyone else is a contributor; thus, I’m the only one that can publish posts. But in the post editor, I only have two options: save as draft or save as pending. Why can’t I publish from the post editor? I’ve only been able to publish from the QuickEdit so far, and that’s annoying.

  Are you signed in as an admin or as a contributor? It sounds like you are signed in as a contributor.

  Nope. I only have a sign in as a contributor.

  BUT! I think I figured it out. That little blue button that says, “Schedule” REALLY means “Publish!” So it’s really just a case of my crankiness when it comes to change.

  Contributors cannot publish posts. Take a peek at this FAQ for what is and is not allowed for the different roles: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/12/what-are-the-different-roles/ .

  Scheduling the post will not publish it if you are only a contributor. Contributors cannot publish posts.
