  Are blog authors allowed to publish commenters’ IP addresses?

  I would certainly not do that unless you have a privacy policy that specifically mentions that you might publish them (which of course means that for any person who reads that they will go elsewhere.

  This could seriously turn off visitors if they find out you might do this.

  I do this when someone has been abusive. If you want your information to remain secret, do not give it to someone whom you then attack.

  It happens more frequently than you’d think.
