publishing new posts

i can’t get my posts to publish; i used to upload a picture of the author of the book i was reviewing and then type the post below it but now i can’t even get the picture to load… something’s wrong but i can’t figure out what it is…
-
Just to be sure we’re on the same page, are you using an image block? https://wordpress.org/support/article/image-block/
If so, what error are you encountering?
-
I am having a similar problem with a post I’ve been working on today. I have been:
– unable to upload a new photo to my post.
– unable to load a feature image to post.At times I have had difficulty saving updates. In the old editor, the error message says there was a problem uploading the image. In the new editor, it is suggested that maybe I am not connected to the internet. I’ve not been having problems doing other work on the internet.
This is the first time I’ve encountered this problem on WordPress in 8 years.

Please try clearing your browser cache and see if that helps:
As you use sites on the web, they store information locally in your browser in the cache. But that cached info can sometimes become stuck, i.e. it stops updating as new information is received from a site, and that can cause only the one specific site that has a stuck cache from working correctly while all other sites still work fine for you.
If clearing the browser cache doesn’t work, it can also be caches kept by your router/modem, or even by your computer’s operating system, so in that case unplug your modem-router for a few seconds to reset its cache, and if that doesn’t help you can try clearing your computer’s DNS cache instead – you’ll need to check your version of Windows or Mac OS’s instructions for that.
-
Kokkieh, I completed the above requested actions:
– cleared browser cache
– turned the modem off then back on
– cleared computer’s DNS.And I still get the same error messages:
-
What browser are you using and what is the version number? That information can be found by going to https://browsehappy.com/
Also, try using a different browser all together to see if that helps.

I’m primarily use Google Chrome, but I also using Microsoft Edge, and yes, I also tried inserting the photos into my draft post in Edge, but that also did not work.
Version of Chrome: Google Chrome is up to date
Version 80.0.3987.122 (Official Build) (64-bit) -
P.S. So far I don’t see an issue with other features in WordPress other than the inability to insert images/photos into my post, feature image, or media library.
-
If you can post text ok and your (free?) site is 8 years old are you sure you haven’t used all the 3GB allowed space in your Media Library?
-
You’ve only used 7% of your upload space on https://bridgebizstem.wordpress.com/ so it’s not that.
What is the error message you’re seeing?
Also, have you tried on a different computer or a mobile device?
-
When I try to add the photo to a block within the post, the error message is “Updating failed, you are probably offline.”
I was able to add a photo as the feature image. An earlier error message said that the photo I wanted to add was not the correct pixel size.
At this time, I only have the Lenova Flex 5 notebook that is just under a year old. No other computer or mobile device is available. at this time.

I discovered a few minutes ago that my theme, The Morning After, has been retired. Would that have any impact on my ability to load photos into my posts?
-
No, that wouldn’t be a problem.
Do you have any better luck with the Desktop App? https://apps.wordpress.com/desktop/
-
I didn’t have better luck with Desktop, however, because I kept getting the message that I probably wasn’t connected to the internet, I focused on my wireless router/modem.
This morning, I not only unplugged it, I disconnected cables and cords and let it sit for about 30 minutes. After reconnecting, I attempted to post a photo to my draft and feature image, and I was able to publish the post as well.
Can’t say if that does the trick, but it’s good to be able to publish the post that was delayed for the past 3+days!
Thanks for everyone’s help.

Regrettably, the problem has not gone away. Although I was able to post on February 28th, early a.m., I attempted to do the same later in the day with results similar to the ones explained earlier.
I’ve unplugged the modem, and I also disconnected the co-axial cable, but that did not help.
When I load my site’s url: http://www.bridgebizstem.wordpress.com, I get this message: This site can’t be reached
The connection was reset.
Try:Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_RESETWhen I load the WordPress app, the Stats and Insights page comes up but it does not completely load. The “Insights” data is shown thru February 28th, however, the info beneath that in the blocks, e.g. Post and Pages, Referrers, Countries, etc. buffers with no data shown.
HELP???
-
Since you’re using a flex book, is there any chance you could try posting from a different Internet connection? If the same thing happens there, it’s likely some kind of firewall setting on the flex book itself.
If that issue only happens on the one connection, I would contact the ISP.
-
I will try two things for the rest of this weekend:
– a. use another notebook to see if WordPress operates “normally”, and
– b. try another internet connection using my primary device, Lenova Flex5 Idea Pad.Hoping for some inspiration on my end to help along the way
-
Perfect. Thank you! We’ll be hoping you spot the issue there too, but if not just let us know.

Is it possible that my site has been hacked???
I was communicating with a person in my Quora group about the issues I have had attempting to access my website. She attempted to load the site and this was her experience:
When I try to access the site, Firefox refuses to display it, saying:
Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to BridgeBizSTEM. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.
This means the site’s been hacked. Since it’s on the WordPress Dot Com servers rather than your own host, you should contact WordPress support.
