Hi there,
It sounds like you want to set up categories:
The above provides information on how Categories work. Categories allow you to group certain posts together by topic.
For information on how to set up category menus, please visit our support page as well:
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi
this just seems to create even more menus though? I want to be able to click on a menu heading and see all my posts under it….

Okay, so you just want a menu item for your post page. You can go to Appearance > Menus from your wp-admin dashboard, and under the Pages module, click the view all tab, and click the box next to
Postsat the top to add it as a menu to your navigation bar.Try that and let me know if you run into any issues.
Thanks,

hmmm..maybe I’m not explaining this very well. On my home page I have set up 3 sections which I will put my posts in to, these are set up as a menu. Sol its say I write 3 posts and want post 1 to go in menu option 1, post 2 into menu option 2, and post 3 into menu option 3. Then I wrote post 4 and this is in the same vein as post 2, so it needs to go under menu option 2. How do I get these posts into these menu options.
Appreciate I am clearly being very dim here but am losing the will to love trying to set up the blog, I seem to be going round and round in circles!!!Many thanks!

For what you’re asking, I do recommend what Darnell suggested earlier: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/publishing-posts-in-the-right-place/#post-3360309
You’ll categorize each post as its intended menu option, and then you’ll set the menu to display those categories.
