publishing problem

Windows XP and Friefox 4.0
This morning I published a 726 word post titled: Business Blogging: Where’s social networking taking us?
URL http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/05/20/wordpress-com-wheres-social-networking-taking-us/The post did not appear on the front page of my blog.
It did not appear in my feed.
It did not appear on the global tagging pages.
It did not appear in my drafts (posts) or in drafts (pages).I felt panicky as I could not locate it. Luckily, I did have trackbacks to posts in my own blog which I had internally linked to and was able to use the links in them to find the post. When I did locate the post I found it had a bizrre datestamp dated December 2010. No I did not even touch the datestamp prior to publishing the “missing” post. Once I noticed that I edited the datestamp and changed it to May 20, 2011.
This post finally appeared on the front page of my blog just now and in my feed. The reason I am sharing this with you at all is that the same bizarre datestamp thing may be happening for other members as well.

Thanks for the report @timethief, we’ll keep our eyes open for any similar reports and start investigating the issue. If this happens again, could you *not* correct the issue and alert us immediately?
Thanks for the patience.

Hi there,
Yes! Indeed I willPlease help me with this issue. I checked and I see that even though I did not use an excessive number of categories/tags that post does not appear on all the global tagging pages.
Here is a list of the tags it does NOT appear under:
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/facebook/
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/small-business/
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/twitter/
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/blogging-tips/
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/business-blogging/
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/social-networks/ -
Well, that was a fun adventure. :)
After a full-on team effort, we finally tracked down the problem. Though you did change the timestamp on your post, the database was still convinced that it was published in December.
We corrected that, and you’re back in business for everything but the Facebook and Twitter tags.
While looking into this, we discovered another oddity in those listings, which is why this post is still not visible there. We’re looking into that, but for the most part this is all fixed up.

Thanks so much for the help. Another oddity? What was it please? I’m afraid to even try publishing another post.
-
In this case, it’s nothing you did. Just something strange with the way posts on those tag pages are calculated.
-
I’m glad to hear it was nothing I have done but as my post is about using Facebook and Twitter in combination with a business blog I did want it to appear in the global tag pages under those tags. :(

Hi Andrew,
Oh you betcha I will let you know … you will hear the shrieking throughout cyberspace. (joking). If I have this happen again, I will post a ticket immediately and I will not change a thing. (fingers crossed against that event ever recurring) -
Hello again,
This is to let you know that I suddenly recalled something that may be useful. The date December 20, 2010 was the date the URL of my post had been changed to. Well I do believe that’s the same date the domain and domain mapping for my blog were initiated. -
Wow, you’re right! Ok, this will be very good to know if it ever happens again.
Thank you!
